Ben Toms’ fashion photography has always had a quirky side to it – sometimes you can find it hidden in the details, sometimes the whole picture manages to be altogether exquisitely beautiful and somewhat extremely disturbing.

HIs first published collection of photo works, Untitled, goes full mondo and takes up a notch the photographers’ fascination with the bizarre side of beauty – and the results are striking.

Published by Owl Cave Books, Untitled is a limited-edition “art object” halfway between an artist book and a box of postcards, and it can be experienced both ways. Inside the box you will find 20 new photos by Ben Toms, all accompanied by text and one more surprising than the other: a pet praying mantis seemingly poses on a plastic cap, houses shaped like dinosaurs and ducks alongside masks and full body costumes come together in a wonderful sum-up of the photographer’s aesthetics.
